The recent Raven thread in Tweeterland reminds me of a Raven I saw
earlier this year, before I joined Tweeters. It was late spring, early
summer if I recall correctly, I was at Shilshole and a Raven walked
within a few feet of me.
For those of you who don't know Seattle, there's a parking lot between
the Shilshole Bay Marina and Golden Gardens Park that's always full of
Gulls, Mallards, Canadian Geese, Pigeons, Crows, sky rats and sky mice
(house sparrows). They're so thick sometimes you almost have to "kick"
then out of your way. (People feed them.)
I thought it was a HUGE Crow at first, but it only took a glance to
see that it was a Raven. It seemed almost as tame as the Ravens at the
Tower of London, but they have their wings clipped so they won't fly
away. Anyway, my question is, how common are Ravens in Seattle?
