Subject: Today's Clark College Gull Report

Sponsored by White Bread from the delightful Clark College Bakery.

As the clouds have rolled in and chased the students inside, the gulls
have been a little more evident on campus today (they usually retreat
west to the VA Hospital grounds on brighter days when students use the
campus for studying, croquet, etc.). Just chummed in about 20-25 gulls.
Three were glaucous-winged-type gulls of dubious parentage, all having
darker grey wing tips. The rest were Californias at this early
date--primarily adults but one first-winter and a couple of second-winter
birds. They were accompanied as usual by a crow or two.
Erratics continue overflying campus. Evening grosbeaks and cedar
waxwings have been evident all week, and as my earlier report noted,
Steller's Jays made an unusual on-campus appearance. Ruby-crowned
kinglets continue to move through--I generally observe about one per day.
Hope you find some good birds this weekend.
