It's "Eilat", actually but that's OK! Reuven visited us at the Goshutes
this year, in part trying to round up volunteers for next spring's
banding efforts. Stuart might be interested in the fact that they
also run a large-scale shorebird banding effort at the same time,
run by Brits (of course), as is their passerine program.

Reuven's an interesting character, got his PhD here in the states,
is a Jew from India, and a Colonel in the Israeli Special Forces
who had his regiment secretly lodged in a neighboring Arab country
during the Gulf War. Since they didn't really have anything to do,
he put his medical team at work doing raptor rehab until they were
ordered back over the border...

Anyway, if anyone's interested in volunteer opportunities for
passerine, shorebird, or raptor work in Eilat, I've got his
e-mail address around here somewhere...

Trained by us at the Goshutes, I might add!
