I know this thread is old but it reminded me of a trip to Palouse Falls a
year ago. We had just come up out of the park and stopped on the ridge to
watch and listen to a Meadowlark when the bird disappeared. Then our car
seemed to lift up off the ground, followed by a deafening roar as an A-6
flew directly over us at 300 feet, dropping down into the canyon below us to
play amoung the Cliff Swallows. We had the distinct feeling that we had been
in the pilot's sights. We looked at each other and simultaneously said "prey".
