This reminds me:
Last year, only a month after moving down here from Vancouver, I heard a
massive roar of a low flying jet while I was birding. Needless to say, the
birds spooked and I was annoyed. It was a sad reminder of how over
militarized the U.S. is compared to Canada. It made me think of how much
wiser it would be to use that money to fund research and conservation of our
wild lands. Then the sucker came right over head, flying extremely low, and
once again scaring the daylights out of the local birds. I got a good look
at the plane and noticed it had Canadian markings!!! That's what you get for
having preconceived notions, before you actually look at your data ;-)
