I guess the sight of a few Snow Geese flying over, which we all think is
really neat, either represents Snow Geese of lowered fitness (i.e., what
are they doing away from their main wintering ground in the Skagit area?),
or possibly wandering individuals of the Canadian-breeding populations that
normally winter in California! In theory, there shouldn't be many Snow
Geese south of about Stanwood, but there seem to be quite a few sightings
this fall.
