Kind of an echo of an earlier post, but...:)

Yesterday, my wife (who has been telling me that the waxwings have been in
large numbers for the last few weeks--although I never seem to see them!
:) finally pointed out a large flock of Cedar Waxwings hanging out in the
bushes by the SUB Satellite on the University of Idaho Campus. I saw a
little bird fly by just before and said, "No, that was a nuthatch." She
emphatically insisted that it was a Cedar Waxwing. Then, a large
beautiful waxwing flew from a bush onto a ledge nearby -at the same time,
a Red-breasted Nuthatch scampered down the tree we were leaning on and
checked us out (traditional head-first, head level nuthatch gaze...).

So, we were both right, sort of. Lesson here is: always listen to your
wife. :)

The cool thing was, the waxwings began flying back and forth from the bush
to the tree...brushing our hair with their wings as they went!

And all this fun right in the middle of Monotony Central.
