Cliff:
A few hours ago I headed down to the Locks, just before dusk. So,
to counterpoise your morning, here is an evening report.


Basic Locks Gull Package: California/Glaucous-winged/Mew (how many?
Billions!) with a sprinkling of 3 Bonaparte's. Alas, no Heerman's to
report.
4 Great Blue Herons
5 Belted Kingfishers
~20 Bushtits
Black-capped Chickadee
Northern Flicker (auditory record only)
10 Western Grebes
~5 Double-crested Cormorants
Anna's Hummingbird (male)
Sharp-shinned Hawk (adult female, making her way north, with entourage,
across the water and into the park.)
Gadwall
100's of Canada Geese

For arguments sake, I'm not 100% on the Sharpie, only 90%! Pretty
good look nevertheless(Hah!)
As for the Rats, I believe this problem resides under the
jurisdiction of the Squirrel-Starling-Cat thread of yore. Just not
enough damn birds of prey! Or too many obese gulls that can't clean
their plates.
Well, it is as it is.
