The rats were running circles around the gulls, and the gulls could care
less. I guess gulls don't consider rats dinner. (besides, these were BIG
rats!!) I thought about importing that squirrel chasing Peregrine that
was mentioned earlier, but I don't think they come when they're called,
at least not by me.
On another note, I went to the football game today, and spent lots of
time looking at the 1000's (so it seemed) of birds on Union Bay. I was a
long ways away, (Section 38, Row OO, Seat 31) and the only birds I could
identify were the two Mute Swans that are always there, and the Canada
Geese. There were lots of small black dots, larger brown dots, and a
huge flock of crows, numbering in the 100's. The gulls of course, were
waiting around for the game to end to help clean the stadium. My
impression was that most were coots with a good sprinkling of ducks and
geese thrown in. I can also see the ponds in the fill from our seats and
there were quite a few people out there. Any Tweeters?
