I agree that there is a lot of individual variation. The 2 things that set
me off were going into the latrine (lost visual cues for motion + odor).
Watching chum material being thrown over the side (looks and smells bad and
probably is bad). Things that made me feel a lot better were lots of wind
right in the face, and a lot of leg and arm flexing compensating for the
boat movements (in other words, not taking a rigid brace but doing a lot of
knee bends). I think everyone is vulnerable once the boat stops and you are
bobbing up and down.
