Waterfowl are arriving in good numbers, with large gatherings of ducks at=
=20
many locations. Among these, at Blackman Lake in Snohomish County, were =
2=20
CANVASBACKS and a REDHEAD on the 22nd. In among thousands of geese on th=
e=20
east side were 3 BLUE PHASE SNOW GEESE at Stratford Lake in Grant County=
. =20
They were seen October 12th.

SCRUB JAYS continue to stray north of their traditional range, with one=20
being seen at Point-No-Point on the 21st and 2 in the Renton Highlands on=
=20
the 19th.

The first SNOWY OWL of the season has been found at Ediz Hook near Port=20
Angeles. The bird was last seen on the 21st, .3 miles past the last sign=
at=20
the pulp mill. =20

A CLARK'=92S GREBE, a male OLDSQUAW, and a few ANCIENT MURRELETS were see=
n from=20
the Edmonds fishing pier on the 21st.

PARASITIC JAEGERS continue to be seen in the Sound with up to 5 present o=
ff=20
March Point near Anacortes on the 20th.

The number of CATTLE EGRETS near Edison in the Samish flats has dwindled =
to=20
one. It was last seen on the 20th between Chuckanut Drive, Thomas, Sunse=
t=20
and Fields. There are quite a few pods of cattle in the area, so the oth=
ers=20
may still be around.
