But seriously folks, it MAY not be as bad as it appears. There are many
ways in which a drive can crash and NOT damage the data. Before you pay
gigabucks to a specialist, try taking it to your local reputable computer
store when you buy the new drive they may be able to transfer everything.
When my drive crashed while still under warranty, the store was able to
recover everything. It could also be the drive controller that's bad, not
the drive.
