Hi Tweeters-
Made a quick trip through Samish Flats yesterday on my way to Mt. Vernon, to
see what, if anything, was going on. Even though we've had a lot of rain
lately, and the river is high, the fields are relatively dry. Had several
Red-tails along Bayview Edison Road and a gaggle of 16 Snow Geese - mostly
immatures. Had a Peregrin Falcon sitting on a telephone pole on Samish
Island Road and 2 Merlin. There were many large flights of ducks overhead.
Couldn't find the Cattle Egret.
Returning to Anacortes via Fir Island, I had another Merlin, but it still
seems to be pretty quiet.
