I have received several requests for updates on our recent flurry of good
birds. I have been out on patrol but without much luck. We did have a Red
Bishop (or close relative) [an African bird and surely an escape] at a
Dungeness feeder today and yesterday. Bob Boekelheide went ballistic - here
was a bird he could not identify. He called Andy S. who was able to tell him
it probably was a Bishop. There is a lot of expertise available out on the
net.
The Gyrfalcon found 10-21 by Patrick & Ruth Sullivan and others in
their party has not been found since.
The Sharp-tailed Sandpiper was last seen 10-21.
The Snowy Owl was present 10-22 but I could not find it today.
The three Brown Pelicans were here only on 10-21 (and I missed them).
Just because I could not find the birds does not mean they are not here.
I hope some birders from the west side of the trough will come up and find
some more birds. Please call if you see something.
