No, there were no puns in his post, I'm just editorializing...

Last year there was a barred owl seen regularly in a small wooded
area on the Reed College campus in PDX. It moved around a lot,
being seen in various trees on campus and in the neighborhood, but
regularly returned to a favorite roost tree in these small woods. I
never saw the bird, just whitewash, of course :) Plenty of others
saw it over a period of months.

So it would appear it hunted over a wide area including the campus and
at least some of the surrounding neighborhood, which also has a lot
of good sized trees. Probably eating cats, chihuahuas, small
children, and - in honor of its cuz 'ole spotty - Republicans. Hey,
or SQUIRRELS...boy, I hope so.
