Editor Position - OREGON BIRDS

The Oregon Field Ornithologists board of directors will be considering bids
for the position of editor for their publication _Oregon Birds_ at the
Portland Audubon House on December 8, 1996 beginning at 11:00am.

_Oregon Birds_ is the quarterly publication of the Oregon Field
Ornithologists. It contains articles, site guides, news, fieldnotes and
official notices pertaining to Oregon birds and birding.

The publication is produced in a 8.5 x 11 inch format and currently uses
recycled paper and environment friendly inks. The cover is of card stock and
printed in 2 colors. On average there are 24 to 32 pages and a pullout center
insert with notices and membership information. Photos are included and, at
this time, are computer scanned halftones.

Written materials and photographs are submitted by the membership of Oregon
Field Ornithologists and others with interests in birds. Longer articles are
submitted for peer review to the editorial board before inclusion.

Those interested in submitting bids will be expected to provide information on
projected costs for producing this publication, including printing at or above
the current quality standards.

Those interested in bidding for this position are invited to attend the
December 8 meeting. If you are unfamiliar with the publication and would like
to see a copy please send your address to Mike Patterson: mpatters at orednet.org
and we will see that a copy is sent to you.
