Birds of the West Indies, by James Bond, is about the only book for the
Lesser Antilles (where Guadeloupe lies). It's entirely adequate. There
aren't too many species of birds on Guadeloupe, but there are some nice
endemics in the Lesser Antilles, so you should enjoy it. Visit both Grande
Terre and Basse Terre.
