Hello Tweets

Anyone who also lurks on obol is aware that we had a sighting and
photographs of a White-capped (Shy) Albatross (Diomedea cauta cauta) on the
October 5th pelagic trip out of Depoe Bay.

I believe the only other North American record of this species was of a
Washington bird in 1951(?). Does anyone up there have any details of this
sighting? Do you know if the bird was collected? Any tips on tracking
down this information would also be appreciated.

Finally, for those interested, photos of the recent Oregon record are on
the web at http://www.rdrop.com/users/green/. I believe this was already
mentioned in a previous post.
