COMMON REDPOLL

Wow! It was in a bush near the pea patch at about 10:00 a.m. We had
only a short view (45 seconds) before it flew off to the West. But it
was an unmistakable view from about 30 yds away in perfect sunlight, and
with two House Finches next to it for comparison. Dime-sized crimson
forehead cap very apparent (blinding). Great bird.

Other sightings:
Ring-necked Duck MF
Northern Shoveler
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Common Snipe
Western Meadowlark 8-10

A ton of sparrows:
Song Sparrow
Fox Sparrow
Lincoln's Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Golden-crowned Sparrow
Dark-eyed Junco (including at least one Pink-sided)

37 species total, mostly in the fog (which didn't burn off until 2
minutes before the redpoll).
