Hi all, this morning at the Montlake Fill, I noticed seven (i.e. all) of
'my' Seward Park parakeets flying north. This was about 8:00 AM. I
quickly went south to Seward Park, only to find it empty for the first ten
minutes (as well as my whole nieghborhood) - no parakeets. After ten
minutes or so, two birds flew in from the north. After at least eight
months of residency down here in Seward Park, it appears they may be again
moving up to their Maple Leaf haunts (so Dennis and Fred be on the
lookout). I don't know whether the two I saw splintered off from the main
group of seven, and returned south (there was a 30-minute time lapse
between my seeing them at the Fill and getting to Seward Park), or whether
there might be nine birds now. If the latter is true, that possibly means
they reproduced. So if any of you see more than seven of these birds in
the next few weeks, please post to tweeters or myself.
