This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline.

Christina Stewart reports an adult PARASITIC JAEGER at Sprague Lake
near Sprague, Washington on August 24. First spotted by Mary Ann
Frobee (sp?), the bird was seen by several folks through the 26th but no
recent reports have come in. Sprague Lake is just south of I-90 just
west of Sprague. Washington DeLorme p. 71, B8.

At the Walla Walla River Delta on the 24th were all of the usual
shorebirds, and also a RUDDY TURNSTONE and 5 SANDERLINGS. The
delta is about 30 miles west of Walla Walla, Washington, just north of
the junction of US 730 and US 12. Washington DeLorme p. 40, D1.

At Mann Lake near Lewiston, Idaho, on August 24 were many of the
same birds previously reported. John Roberson reports seeing
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, RED-NECKED
PHALAROPES, WESTERN SANDPIPERS, GREATER and LESSER
YELLOWLEGS, a single FORESTER'S TERN, a PEREGRINE FALCON and
2 EARED GREBES. This past week, Ila Svingen added a PRAIRIE
FALCON to that list. To get to Mann Lake, take US 12 west into
Lewiston, cross the Clearwater Bridge and immediately turn left toward
East Lewiston. Follow Main Street to the blinking yellow light and turn
right onto Lindsay Creek Road. Stay right at the Y and follow Lindsay
Creek until it dead ends at Grelle. Turn left onto Grelle, and just after
Grelle makes a 20 mph right turn, turn left toward the lake. Head
straight about 1.3 miles on the newly paved road to the dead end and
the parking area. Idaho DeLorme p. 54, A1.

Good birding!
