I'd be hesitant to rely on my quick (from memory) description to identify
the species..I was sure that he'd be some sort of a House Sparrow plumage
variant (he/she 's in a flock of House Sparrows, mostly females). One
other thing did come to mind, though: his/her beak is bright yellow.
Tomorrow, I shall record this bird more carefully, perhaps even dust off
the camera to get a good pic for display on the net. Until then, I'm
reluctant to call it anything other than my weird House Sparrow friend! :)
