Subject: Some Interesting Things at Smith Island and North of Edmonds

Four of us did Smith Island this past Saturday and were excited to spot
a prergrine falcon in the area of the bridge. Someone had noted on the
sign-in sheet that they had observed the same bird (most likely)
earlier in the morning. Sunday morning my wife and I heard and saw 2
visits from a piliated woodpecker sitting on our fence. We've seen many
hairy and downy woodpeckers in our yard, but this was the first
piliated in 20 years. Cheers John Henninger
