To all interested Tweeters,
A message was left on the SAS RBA tape. The caller described a bird
like this:
It was chickadee sized or slightly larger.
Pure white crown, black stripe on side of head.
White throat and underparts, even under tail.
Slightly down-curved bill (reminded caller of Brown Creeper bill).
Had habit of cocking tail.
Stayed rather low in brush.
Seen at Schmitz Park in West Seattle 2:00 Thursday afternoon.

I was considering an oddly plumaged Bewick's Wren, but the caller said
he thought not. How about Black-and-white Warbler? Probably not,
because they should show barred undertail coverts and caller said it
wasn't acting at all like a nuthatch, which Black-and-whites often do.
Immature B&w has buffy underparts, not white.
Saturday morning birding at same site yielded a MacGillivray's and an
Orange-crowned Warbler.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul Cozens
