Hi folks,

At about 4pm today, while beating the red-breasted nuthatches, =
black-capped and chestnut-backed chickadees and house finches away from =
the feeder long enough to re-fill it with wormy black sunflower =
seeds,...

I heard the unmistakable bugle of a Sandhill Crane! I looked up to see =
5 of them flying directly over my yard in West Olympia at about 500 feet =
elevation (more or less....). They proceeded southeast to the point =
where they were likely over Capitol Lake, then angled more to the right =
(south), and I lost sight of them.

These were a great addition to my yard list, and made the cool, rainy =
afternoon a whole lot brighter.
