Hi Tweets,

An adult Sabine's Gull in pre-Basic Molt flew past the Lighthouse at
Lighthouse Marine Park this afternoon. An Arctic Tern in Def. Alternate
plumage, located by Karen Irving, was on the pilings at the park parking lot
with about 500 Common Terns, 3 Franklin's Gulls, and about 300 Bonaparte's
Gulls. Included in the last were about 25-30 Juvenile-Basic 1 birds, 5 of
which were *very* fresh juveniles still patterned with the warm brown
feather-tips which wear off so quickly.

Another highligh was a perfect, bright, complete double-arched rainbow
against a large local squall to the north.

Conditions: temp: 15 degrees C; wind: S-SW 35-40 km/hr; barom: Low, rising;
cloud: very local cumulonimbus squalls, scattered cumulus; precip:
occasional light to heavy showers; sea: 1.5-2.0 meter chop with whitecaps
and a heavy rip SW and W of the Point; tide: flood.
