Wes Jansen, fellow Tweetsters,

A presumed hybrid Northern Flicker has wintered at Green Lake, Seattle, the
past few years. A Red-shafted pair nests at the park but I never see this
"yellow-shafted" bird during the nesting season. The bird looks like a
yellow-shafted male, except the black moustache has a fringe of red on the
cheek. My (photographic) records show a similar looking bird at Green Lake
back in December 1992 and I believe I have documented this (or this type of)
bird at the park each winter since. I've been on the look-out for it in recent
weeks. Unfortunately the section of the park the bird usually frequents is
fenced off for path renovation and inaccessible till November.
