Hello Tweets,

In reply to "Judy in West Seattle's" question of where in west
Seattle to see the Jay try looking at the Hiawatha playground at
Lander and California (just N of the High School or try Schmitz
park. The bird is seen sporadically at my friends place midway
between these two areas. Being without company of its own species
for a year or so the jay isn't very vocal (hard to believe, I
know) so it may take some persistent looking to find it.
This leads me to a question for any Tweeter who might know how
good the birding is at Schmitz Park. What's the habitat like and
is fall or winter very productive there. I might like to take
a group from rainier Audubon there, perhaps as part of an Alki
winter field trip.
Thanks,
Jim Flynn
