This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline.

Winnie Hepburn and Marilyn Smith report a flock of 5 BUSHTITS just
south of Pomeroy, Washington this past week. Head south from
Pomeroy on WA 128 toward Columbia Center. The birds were in a
brushy area 0.4 mile down the grade. WA DeLorme p. 42, A4.

Dan Svingen and Chuck Trost saw a single PARASITIC JAEGER today,
September 20, at the Walla Walla River delta in western Walla Walla
County, Washington. Also on the delta was a single DUNLIN and an
assortment of other shorebirds and waterfowl. The delta is about 30
miles west of Walla Walla, just north of the junction of US 12 and US
730. WA DeLorme p. 40, D1.

At Mann Lake near Lewiston, Idaho, on September 15, John and Marty
Hirth saw 2 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, a single MARBLED GODWIT, a
single SANDERLING, and 48 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS. Also there was
a single FORESTER'S TERN. Later in the week Shirley Sturts and several
others spied a PEREGRINE FALCON about 1 mile north of Mann Lake. To
get to Mann Lake, take US 12 west into Lewiston, cross the Clearwater
Bridge and immediately turn left toward East Lewiston. Follow Main
Street to the blinking yellow light and turn right onto Lindsay Creek
Road. Stay right at the Y and follow Lindsay Creek until it dead ends at
Grelle. Turn left onto Grelle, and just after Grelle makes a 20 mph right
turn, turn left toward the lake. Head straight about 1.3 miles to the
dead end and the parking area. Idaho DeLorme p. 54, A1.

A single SANDERLING was on the city beach in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
today, according to John Shipley. The bird was just west of the CdA
Resort and was very approachable.
