It would be extremely interesting to determine whether these are the same
subspecies that occurs in the Yakima area, individuals of which are
basically brown like those of western WA, or the "lead-colored" bushtit
that occurs in the Rockies and southern Oregon, which is quite gray, almost
without brown tones. A specimen of the latter was collected years ago in
Yakima Co., the only WA record.
