In addition to what Michael Smith posted on the Thunder Mt. trip with
Mary Poss for Saturday, I can give an overview for Sunday. I hope for a
more complete list from Mary (and George).

Sunday was again cold, with little snow fall. In the afternoon, it
got warmer, but we didn't see any raptors - maybe because we were
exploring more the valley bottoms, and didn't have any views as on Saturdays.

Remarkable sight #1: Generally, the forest was very quiet, but in one
small area we came across 3 Hairy Woodpeckers, 1 Downy, and, a little
further, a 3-toed Woodpecker. All of them worked on (burnt) Lodgepole Pines.

Remarkable sight #2: Around 2.30pm, we heard calls of what turned out to
be 2 flocks (20 + 60) of Sandhill Cranes flying South.

Remarkable sight #3: As we were leaving Long Draw Campground, we came
across a Pygmy Owl sitting in the open in a bare aspen tree. It went
after a while for a Chipmunk but missed.
