Judy,

The Montlake fill is in general one of Seattle's best birding spots.

The Fill is just East of the University of Washington, next to Husky
stadium.

>From I-5 heading North or South exit at 45th street (same exit for U of
W) and head East through about 10 city blocks along the north perimeter
of the campus then down a ramp to Sandpoint blvd. Left at Sandpoint to
the next light, turn right on to Mary Gates memorial drive. Find street
parking (usually easy) somewhere in the first block (before the street
curves around to the left) and head South past the Center for Urban
Horticulture buildings onto Wahkiakum lane, which cuts through the Fill
itself. A bark covered interpretive trail makes a large loop around much
of the South half of the Fill.

Enjoy!
