Although not yet confirmed, I received a late report of a bird fitting
the
description of a Spotted Redshank, possibly a dark juvenile, seen Sept.
23 in
Cadboro Bay, near Victoria. The observer, who is familiar with
redshanks
from his British origin, gave a fairly convincing description. So far,
it
has not been relocated. Watch for it along the Juan de Fuca shoreline
and
the Wash. and Ore. coasts.
