We seemed to have an increase in black-headed grosbeaks as well this
summer. We had two families of birds sharing our feeders. The males
seemed to show up more often than did the females. They seemed to arrive
at our feeders at about the same time that the evening grosbeaks did in
the spring as they were heading north. And now that you mention it Mike,
I haven't seen any BHGB for at least a couple of weeks.
