PLEASE FORGIVE any double postings

Dear Friends,

I hope you have heard we are organizing the II NTT World Bird Count
and the World BirdWatch 1996 events simoultaneously throughout the
Americas between the 28th of September to the 13th of October.
As in previous years organizations throughout Latin America and the
Caribbean are organizing different educational activities and birding
fieldtrips. Individuals and groups throughout the hemisphere are
invited to participate.

It is quite simple to participate and support this activity through events
of your own which you may have already been planning, or through
organization of a few small group birding trips. I encourage you to
do so as, like last year, NTT will be donating US $10, for each species
reported, to BirdLife International's conservation program.

We can send further information if you wish to find out more about
these events.

If you do organize any activities, or have other groups join this
effort, we would like to receive a brief summary of activities along
with information on different birding trips and the species seen (I
can send data sheets via email); we basically need name of group
(# of participants) or individual, place you birded at (location),
telephone and fax numbers, reference books you used, # of species
you saw or heard, and the species list.

Please send us information on your Birding trips held anywhere in
the Americas between the 28th of September to the 13th of
October. We need to receive this along with your species lists by
October 30th 1996 (emailing this will help us out). Your fieldtrips
can not only be enjoyable, they can help conservation efforts too!
Remember, NTT will donate BirdLife International US $10.oo for
each species recorded.

Thanks,

Roberto Phillips F.
