On the morning of Sept. 26, two of us birded the lake at the Monroe Prison
Farm in Snoqualmie Valley where we saw several species of ducks including a
male Eurasian Wigeon; several Long-billed Dowitchers, one in breeding color,
1 Greater Yellow-legs. On the way to Two Rivers (Oxbow Lake), found a
perched Sharp-shinned Hawk. At Two Rivers we saw: Cedar Waxwing, N. Flicker,
Red-tailed Hawk,Yellow-rumped Warbler, Wood Duck (female), Bewick's Wren,
Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Belted Kingfisher, Lincoln's Sparrrow, Fox Sparrow
(singing and full view), Steller's Jay, Downy Woodpecker, Great Blue Heron,
Canada Goose, Red-winged Blackbird, Song Sparrow, American Goldfinch, Spotted
Towhee, White-crowned Sparrow, 10 Turkey Vultures flying south/southwest, and
1 soaring Common Raven, plus the usual "common" birds, e.g. A. Robin.
Beautiful day to be out.
