I visited Green Lake this morning, (Thurs, 9/26) and searched the Canada
Goose population fairly carefully and saw nothing but the usual honkers.
But with the large off limits area to the North, I could have easily
missed the Greater White-fronted Goose. Besides, it's a big park.

It seems that everywhere I looked, the trees were full of Waxwings.

woods were full of them.
I didn't see the Sandpiper, but there was a Pied-billed Grebe with a
fairly small Grebelet on the edge of the lily pads on the west shore.
Green Lake is a great place to watch Pied-billed Grebes up close, by the
way, for those who don't live here. I counted about 12 within a few feet
of the shore. Also, at the risk of embarrassment, Martin's Green Lake
walks are well worth the effort of signing up. (Through SAS) Will you be
doing more this winter, Martin?
