Fellow Tweeters,

Sorry to bother everyone with this. I received several nice comments
(privately) about the Green Lake bird count report coupled with requests to
join me on the walks. Since some requests didn't contain a return address, I'm
posting this to everyone. Again my apologies if this bothers anyone.

In the past I've had people join me on my Wednesday morning bird count around
Green Lake. The bottom line is it doesn't work. I've standardized the walk and
I take hardly any time to discuss field marks or linger. So I discourage that.

However, as a member of the Green Lake Park Alliance (volunteers for Green
Lake Park, a non-profit organization working independently but in close
cooperation with the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation), I can offer
the following:

Free Saturday morning bird walks from 8 AM till about 10 AM, October through
May. Yes; every Saturday, rain or shine.
The walks start at the life guard chairs at the east beach (near Evans
Pool/Community Center). Group size limited to the first 15 comers.
Dress warm (overdo it), bring field guides and binocs or other equipment, but
they're not required, I will gladly share.
The program is open to anyone. Any age, any level.
You do not need to sign up in advance.

For now it looks like I will be doing the vast majority of these 35 walks.
Needless to say I am also recruiting other volunteer leaders. Anybody
interested in helping out with leading these walks, please contact me at the
number below.

Thank you.
