Are you feeding straight sunflower seeds? If not, switch to that and you'll
discourage House Sparrows and some finches (although they like those as
well). You might try placing another feeder in a different area as well.
We have a ceramic feeder that the finches (all varieties) don't seem to like
much. I think it's slippery. At any rate, the chickadees and nuthatches love
it. I also have a hanging birdbath that's very shallow and the tree birds
like chickadees and siskins use it almost exclusively.
