Hi Tweeters: The school year has started again and we have completed our
first birding trip at Marymoor Park. This year we are going to team up
and write our observations together. We would be happy to recieve your
replys and answers to our questions.

20 feet in front of us a Coopers Hawk glided on it's last patrol flight
before digesting it's food. The immature female, landed in a bush near
the marshlands. Before we left, we saw a sharpie from a distance in the
sky. At first we mistook the immature female Coopers as a sharpie, but we
had our bird book and we saw that Sharpie's have square tail tip and their
eyes are centerd on the head, none of these apply to the Cooper's.
We saw a Green-Backed Heron on the edge of the slough. It was much
smaller than the Great Blues. The eyes were yellow.

How is the four letter abbreviation written for the GBHE (green-backed
heron) and the GBHE (great blue heron)? Dakota

The lunar eclipse was wonderful later in the night. We all went home and
watched it. Saturn was also visible at the lower right.
