Hi Tweets,

Here's a message (below) from Dan Landeen regarding two publications by
the Nez Perce. The first one below has a number of photographs by Don
Baccus. It's beautifully illustrated.

Note, in the second part of the message he's putting out a call for more
photographic help from you amateur nature photographers for a 300 page
book in preparation.

I have a few copies left. People can get copies while they last for $11
payable to the Nez Perce Tribe ERWM Department, P.O. Box 365, Lapwai, ID
83540

We have almost received enough orders to print another 2000 copies which we
are planning on distributing in bookstores and museums that have requested
them. We have also found several errors which will be rectified in the
second printing. If you know of any stores in the Seattle area that might
be interested please let me know and I will send them a complimentary copy.

I'm also working on a similar project regarding the flora and fauna of the
Nez Perce Indian Reservation and ceded lands. We are interviewing tribal
elders and will have many of their stories in the book along with lots of
animal and plant photos. It will be a similar format to the Hanford book
and will be about 300 pages. If you know of anyone who might be interested
in contributing photos of plants, mammals and birds, please let me know. I
know many amateur photographers are happy to get their photos published. We
don't have much money to pay pros for pictures. We'll take a lot of our own
photos but we''ll need to rely on contributions.

As for putting the book on Cascadia, just let people know that the second
printing will be forthcoming within the next 4 months. All the stores I
have contacted said they will sell it for 14.95. The second edition will be
spiral bound with black wire and should be a little sturdier.
