If Sally Carrigher was alive today and living in Seattle, this could
have been an excerpt from the book she would have written, "On Day on
Lake Washington". I would have read it three times by now.

A few years back National Geographic had a collection of photographs of
"Animals at Play". If a polar bear would play with a Husky dog, then I
don't doubt that a seal would play with a willing canine. Is there an
ethologist in the audience?
