Well maybe it has just been a good year for the birds of the "Humid
Divsion of the Transition Zone". If drenching humidity is what they
like, there certainly wasn't a lack of it here. Thrushes, Towhees, Song
Sparrows, Woodpeckers; their numbers were all up at my feeders this past
winter. This morning I took a five minute "clear my head before a
meeting" walk in Marymoore Park and within about 200 yards counted 10
Song Sparrows. Four of them were busy with nest building work.
