Just returned from a four day birding trip to the Columbia Basin. At
the Bridgeport State Park on 4/6/97 we saw a Ringed Turtle-Dove which
we assume is an escapee. It was pale in color and we clearly saw the
black collar. Has anyone else seen this bird? Is it new this year or
has it been around before?

Also of interest was a sighting of four Wilson's Phalaropes on Hwy 174
just e of Barker Canyon Road. Otherwise our sightings were similar to
those reported by others except we never saw even one Sandhill Crane.
