There is something about birds of prey and educational institutions. In
April of 1988 I was enjoying some of the first nice spring weather by
tossing the football around campus. I was surprised to see a Little Brown
Bat circling above us in the middle of the day. No sooner had I pointed it
out to my buddies when from out of nowhere a Merlin sped in and picked the
bat right out of the sky! Bon apetit.
The ospreys are back in the Kootenay River valley too.
