Hello tweets:
I'm not certain if Carl & Cathi regard House Sparrows as a problem.
If so, I've discovered a number of ways to discourage their presence,
even though a neighbor across the street has a herd of them. I use only
a tube feeder with the perches removed. I removed the seed tray from
underneath. I use only black-oil sunflower seed. House Sparrows like to
feed in groups, sitting together on perches for hours and chatting to
friends. By removing perches & trays, and limiting the use of millet,
this seems to limit the sparrows as well. I rarely have Sparrows in my
yard or at my feeder.
