We have gone the next step and try to make their lives short. My husband,
Jerry has become quite adept at using a slingshort called a wrist rocket and
can nail a house sparrow at about 20 feet. I am not so good, but can hit a
squirrel on a good day.
We also trap, with a "live" trap that I bought from the American Bluebird
Association. this gets the males that sing for mates, and generally, if we
get rid of the male, the females go elsewhere.
