All the messages about House Sparrows at feeders is interesting, because we
rarely get a HOSP at any of our feeders. Maybe one will show up 2-3 times a
year and only at our platform feeder which does have millet and sunflower
seeds. I guess we are just lucky. We also don't have a starling problem.
The only possible reason I can think of is that our almost one acre plot is
totally surrounded by trees, so there isn't much open area for them to come
in to the yard.
