The trees are definitely a factor. Prior to the business building being
built right next to us, taking out some fairly large trees, the house
sparrows were definitly decreasing in numbers as i made my feeders
less attractive to them.

Now my hope is that as my new shrubs and trees become robust, that
my yard will be less house sparrow friendly.
