Saturday dawned frosty and mostly clear, with high thin clouds veiling the
sun.

Abundant and singing in the marsh were:
Marsh Wrens (several nests in evidence)
Song Sparrows
Redwing Blackbirds
Common Yellowthroats
Savannah Sparrows
Tree Swallows
Virginia Rails (well, abundant and oinking).

In the woods and fields nearby:

Robin
Starling
Crow
House Finch
Stellar's Jay
Bewick's Wren
Spotted Towhee
Black-capped Chickadee
Northern Flicker

Gadwall
Mallard
Canada Goose
Killdeer (2)
Great Blue Heron (2 flyovers)
